Helping Communities Through TNR
TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) is the most effective and humane way to reduce stray and feral cat populations while improving the health and safety of community cats.
Through education, resources, and community support, ResQ helps caretakers provide compassionate care for cats in need.
Trap
Community cats are humanely trapped using safe, monitored traps. It is an effective way of managing feral and stray cat populations and to reduce their numbers in our communities.
Neuter
After cats are trapped, they are brought to a vet to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and ear tipped.
Return
Once they have recovered from their surgery, they are returned back to their original territory where food, water, and shelter are provided by a colony caretaker.
What does ResQ TNR Assistance look like?
ResQ TNR assistance is available in various forms. The program is dedicated to aiding community members who wish to support a colony of cats. Our objective is to encourage greater community involvement in TNR, as this is the only method to create a significant and lasting effect on feral and stray cat populations. More individuals getting involved is crucial! The ResQ TNR Assistance Program offers help with:

Every community and every colony is different, and we work to provide guidance and support wherever we can.
Prevention
Every cat helped through TNR prevents future suffering before it begins. TNR improves the lives of community cats, reduces overcrowding in shelters, decreases nuisance behaviors, and creates healthier, more stable colonies.

Cost
Applying for TNR assistance is free of charge, though applicants may be asked to help cover a portion of spay/neuter costs when financially possible.
